Selahattin Köksal is the Head of the IoT & Digital Strategy Department at Vestel. He is leading the Product Management, Digital Strategy and Business Development teams for IoT services and connected products.
He has the responsibility for defining the related project road maps, business plans, product offerings, and developing digital strategies.
From his point of view, interoperability and digital service concepts are essential for providing a better smart life experience to partners and end-users. He thinks that these concepts will increase the value offered to consumers and help them in every aspect of their lives.
As someone who closely follows new trends, he also believes that innovative approaches of blockchain, energy management, and sustainability will also play an important role in IoT.
Yoon Ho Choi
As part of the IoT Business Group in appliances, Yoonho leads investigations with goals of expanding the hardware business to include services, commerce and data businesses. He heads cross-industry partnerships globally and is intimately involved with strategic investments to help accelerate the digital transformation. Yoonho brings a unique set of expertise that includes running a start up, mobile telecommunications and product strategy consulting.
Katherine Shin is the Vice President of Customer Experience for the Residential HVAC and Supply business of Trane Technologies, where she leads design and development of critical customer experiences for B2B and B2C channels, data science and advanced analytics, customer insights and research, as well as the connected home strategy and digital deployment for the business.
Previously Katherine led the digital business for the Residential HVAC and Supply business, where she drove digital transformation and external partnerships to enable an agile-mindset within the business and implement strategies to drive digital adoption of connected solutions. Katherine also previously led strategy and business development for the energy services, controls, and digital business of the commercial HVAC business unit, and has held various roles throughout her 12 years at Trane Technologies in strategy, marketing, innovation, business development, program management, and digital/connected products.
She actively participates in many networks to expand her learning and professional development, including ASHRAE, HARDI, women’s network, AMA, United Way, and is in a mentoring program for minority women business professionals in the NOVA region. Katherine resides in the Northern Virginia area with her husband Alan, and dog Minnie.
John Ouseph is the Technology Senior Executive for the Smart Home Solutions group of GE Appliances, a Haier company, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. GE Appliances is at the forefront of building innovative, smart, energy-efficient appliances that improve people’s lives.
He is responsible for setting the technology and innovation strategy for GE Appliances’ (IoT) smart home initiative. In his 20-year GE career, he progressed through various cross-functional operating roles in GE, including roles at the Global Research Center. John assumed the technical leadership position for the Smart Home Solutions group in November of 2011. John’s newest project includes working with the global Haier team to establish the company’s overall technical vision and global product roadmaps for connected and smart appliances.
Throughout his career, he has continued to develop new technology, and has led the design and launch of numerous innovative appliance and connected products. John is a graduate of the Speed Scientific School of the University of Louisville. He also volunteers with several community nonprofit organizations and is currently the chair for the KY Science Center Board of Directors.

Shawn Stover serves as the Vice President of SmartHome Solutions for GE Appliances (GEA), a Haier company. In his role, he is responsible for the initiatives that fuel the growth and profitability in the connected space. Stover is passionate about thoughtful innovation and bringing real value to product owners through forward-thinking smart home technologies.
Stover also leads the SmartHome Solutions IoT strategy to develop a portfolio of products and custom possibilities that deliver convenience and peace of mind. The SmartHome Solutions group aims to transform the heart of the home and how owners experience the kitchen, laundry, and many of life’s everyday moments. It combines the GEA Connected Technology and Information Technology teams, which are charged with helping owners manage their business or households in new and more efficient ways.
Mustafa Uğuz was born in Turkey in 1981. He received a B.S. degree and M.Sc. from Middle East Technical University, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in Ankara, Turkey. In his Ph.D. study, he has been at Middle East Technical University, Informatics Institute. He has studied on cybersecurity, cloud computing, ubiquitous computing and smart grids. His Ph.D. thesis is about the smart grid transformation in Turkey.
Since 2004, he has been working for Arçelik as a Technical Leader. Mustafa Uğuz administered and managed several research programs and product development projects in academia and private sector, funded by the Turkish State Agencies, TUBITAK, EU H2020 and Industry. He was assigned by TUBİTAK as a member of TUBİTAK Display Technologies Focus Expert Group. For the time being he is the chairman of TOBB Digital Transformation Task Force. He is the chairman of TOBB R&D Centers and University-Industry Collaboration Commission and the Executive Board Member of ECİD (Turkish Electronic Devices Manufacturers Association). He is also the Arçelik representative at DIGITALEUROPE, APPLIA and EEBUS in Brussels.
